Why brand protection matters

A strong brand attracts customers. It also attracts people who want to exploit it, through lookalike domains, fake web shops or email that appears to come from you.

Every infringement can cost sales, trust and time. The earlier it is detected, the easier it is to stop.

Start with registration

A registered trademark gives you exclusive rights that are much easier to enforce than an unregistered one. It is the foundation for requesting that a domain is transferred or that an ad or page is taken down.

Register in the countries and classes where you do business today and where you plan to grow.

  • The right classes for your goods and services
  • Protection in the markets where you operate
  • Word mark and, where needed, a figurative mark

Secure the most important domains

Register your brand under the top level domains that matter most to you, and common misspellings. Owning the domain is often cheaper than trying to recover it later.

Monitor continuously

New domains and trademark applications are filed every day. Monitoring tells you when something resembles your brand so you can act before it is used against you.

At Markydot we monitor, assess the hits and recommend the right action, from a cease and desist letter to a domain dispute.
